It’s Challenge Day. We are trying to show as many different forms of art as we can.
We have had beautiful submissions of all kinds of visual art. We recently had a challenge for some spoken word art.
Well, we’re at it again. This time, with music.
It is such a unique form of art and can also be an amazing form of self expression. We’re calling all musicians to the challenge brought to you by Her Blaze Founder and CEO herself!
Something you might not know about Her Blaze is that the founder/CEO is an artist herself. Her Blaze was born from her knowing and understanding the struggle of being an artist, yet appreciating the love and support from fans.
Here is a little glimpse into the kind of submissions we are looking for:
Music is so vast. This challenge is in no way limiting your submissions. You’re lead vocalist in a band? Great! We want to hear. You’re a solo artist like Whitney Houston, we are most definitely interested.
Maybe you write the music? Perfect! And let’s not forget those of you playing instruments! We welcome any and all submissions.
Not sure what to submit? There’s no wrong submission.
Did you sing the National Anthem like Eric Church did before the Super Bowl? Or maybe you did a whole show like The Weekend did at halftime?
It doesn’t have to be a big stage. You don’t need to have millions of people watching. We are even more interested in your performance in the small, local bars or at Sunday morning church service.
Music, like all forms of art, tells a story. For me, there’s two possible stories when it comes to music; the story of the music itself and the story of the performer.
Most recently, Phoebe Bridgers sang on SNL. One of the lyrics of her song ‘Punisher’ said, “ I love a good place to hide in plain sight”.
This resonates with me on a personal level. It’s as if Phoebe is saying that she is going on with life, as if there’s nothing wrong, but she’s hiding behind that fake facade, the one we feel like we must put on.
As you share your music submissions, I also hope you’ll share your passion for music as well as why that’s your chosen art form. We love when you share personal pieces of your art so that we can get to know you better.
We want to connect with you through your music. We want for the world to have the privilege of hearing your music.
There are no limits at Her Blaze. We don’t care where you live. We don’t care if you rap, sing country music or play in a Jazz band.
We just want to hear your performances so we can show you the support and appreciation you deserve! As always, check out Her Blaze for instructions on submitting your art!
